Known haven for pedophiles, racists, and misogynists now accepting Bitcoin as payment for subscriptions

Reddit, bastion of free speech (as long as it’s speech with which they agree,) is now accepting payment for their pointless “Reddit Gold” service through Bitcoin processor Coinbase.

Of course, reddit CEO Yishan Wong has clarified that they don’t really accept buttcoins, but instead rely on another company to convert them into real money that a major company can use and report on tax records.

Inquiries on when reddit will be accepting Monopoly bills, chocolate coins, and replica Confederate dollars have gone unanswered.

Here is the difference tho: you will never change your opinion about Bitcoin (regardless of how widely adopted it is), you will probably continue to rail against it, eventually I will just get bored of your banter and move to something more entertaining.         Well, things don’t just happen overnight. The fact that the market cap was less than $150 million 6 months ago is a pretty indicative that the drop is growing. Who knows how big it will get, but I’m willing to wager ANY of you here that the market cap will continue to increase for many years to come. Let’s do the ultimate test: I’m willing to put up 1,000 of your favorite US dollars that Bitcoin will double by August . Any takers?

We can even make it a long term bet… the longer the time, the more I’m willing to bet. So if you think that Bitcoin is shit and it will fail, then put some money on the line and let’s test who is really right here.

        I’m not talking about price of a single bitcoin, I’m taking about it functioning as a currency. Bitcoin is not seeing widespread adoption, it’s seeing a bunch of moron clinging to a deflationary currency and hoping they can sit on their pile of internet funbux until it swells in value. It has “value” like gold has value, but no one trades in gold. Same thing with bitcoin, it’s rising in value because some guy is betting some other guy that he can buy it before the value drops again or goes flat. As far as actual adoption, you have Silk Road and then a couple high profile websites that are ultimately taking in USD through some bitcoin 3rd-party processors.
        
        Your “currency economy” is pure shit, isn’t growing, and has many faults to prevent widespread adoption. Just hearing people yell “no chargebacks!” like it’s a good thing for consumers are completely missing the point.
